Meet Kelly, Founder of Belhaakon
Kelly’s career began in New York City where she spent the better part of a decade learning from industry tastemakers and earned her degree at Parson while studying in both NYC and Paris. These experiences bred professional fortitude and a deep appreciation for the unexpected, from which she carved out her own point of view. She later returned to her familial roots in Massachusetts to cultivate a unique approach and perspective on the interior design space here in New England. Co-founding Davis Scott Interior Design Studio in 2014, Kelly led a team of talented designers and visionaries, and deepened her knowledge of design composition as well as architectural modeling and new construction.
In early 2018 Kelly founded Belhaakon from her instinctual passion to reveal a space’s past, present, and future narrative through collaboration and inspiration with her clients and like-minded makers and artisans. Kelly uses design to celebrate the intersection of ritual and personal style. Her discovery process allows each element to thoughtfully play off one another like the deeply layered lyrics of a coveted song. She’s inspired by the imperfections of everyday life and cherished moments of human interaction—candles melted down after an evening with friends, the sound of a record over Sunday breakfast, the shuffling feet of a delighted child running into a room to tell a story.
In essence, Kelly believes our environments have the ability to cultivate lasting experiences, sincere relationships, and a deep connection to one’s self.
